Makassar, 14 October 2024 – The Quality Assurance Agency (LPM) of State Islamic University Alauddinuddin Makassar held Socialisation of Operational Guidelines for Lecturer Workload (PO-BKD) Year 2024 on Monday, 14 October 2024. This activity was the second time it was held for different faculties. This activity aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the new lecturer workload rules that will be enforced starting in 2024.
This socialisation presented three main speakers, namely Prof. Dr. Mashuri Masri, M. Kes, as the Chairperson of LPM UIN Alauddin Makassar, Dr. Ir. Alim Syariati, M.Sc., Head of Quality Standard Development Centre (PSM), and Muhammad Nur Akbar Rasyid, M.Ed., Ph.D, Head of Quality Control Audit Centre (APM). The three speakers discussed and answered questions in depth on important aspects of PO-BKD 2024, including implementation, lecturer performance assessment, and its impact on the quality of education at the university.
This activity was attended by participants from three faculties, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business. The enthusiasm of the participants can be seen from the high participation in discussions and questions and answers about the application of PO-BKD in daily academic activities.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mashuri Masri, M. Kes emphasised that PO-BKD 2024 will be an important guide in measuring lecturer performance. ” This guideline not only regulates lecturers’ workload, but also ensures that every activity carried out by lecturers have a real impact in improving the quality of education, research, and community service,” said Prof. Mashuri. Mashuri.
Dr. Alim Syariati, M.Sc.in his presentation, explained the technicalities of lecturer workload assessment and how the PO-BKD 2024 system will help optimise the tri dharma of higher education. He also emphasised the importance of collaboration between faculties and LPM in supporting the effective implementation of this guideline.
Meanwhile , Muhammad Nur Akbar Rashid, M.Ed., Ph.D provides an overview of the link between lecturer performance appraisal and the accreditation process and academic quality development. lecturers with the accreditation process and academic quality development. “The implementation of PO-BKD 2024 will play a role in maintaining excellent accreditation as well as ensuring that the quality of education at UIN Alauddin continues to improve . ensuring that the quality of education at UIN Alauddin continues to improve,” he said.
This socialisation ended with an interactive discussion session, where participants actively asked about various aspects of PO-BKD implementation, ranging from adjustments to research activities to community service.
Dengan terselenggaranya kegiatan ini, diharapkan seluruh dosen di UIN Alauddin Makassar, dapat lebih siap dalam menghadapi dan menerapkan pedoman terbaru ini, demi tercapainya mutu pendidikan yang lebih baik di masa depan.
